That pain you feel between your shoulder blades when you wear full kit? It's preventable. It's caused by a rear plate bag that hangs too low. When the rear plate bag hangs too low, your center of gravity shifts. This forces your head and neck to crane forward to balance the weight, and this constant tension in the rhomboids and trapezius muscles leads to chronic pain and trigger point tension between the shoulder blades. In addition to all these problems, most plate carriers are bulky, heavy, and overall just plain uncomfortable.

Here's how we fixed all that:

We started out by building our plate bags uniquely with a top loading design, meaning, Javlin plate bags have the armor load from the top instead of the bottom like on most other plate carriers. Constructing our plate bags this way allowed us to design shoulder straps with a functionality unlike any other brand. 

This shoulder strap design keeps the shoulders low bulk and away from the neck to avoid chaffing, but more importantly, they have an incredible range of adjustability. This ensures that the operator, no matter how big or small, can properly size their ride height to avoid having their rear plate bag hang too low and force their neck to crane forward.

Ensuring the rear plate bag sits higher on your body than the front plate bag is an ergonomic design choice that promotes optimal posture alignment. Anyone who's worn a heavy rucksack knows that the higher the weight on your back the better, and the same is true with a rear plate bag.

The final piece of our solution was combining three layers of two different types of high quality elastic to form an elastic cummerbund like none other. This amount of elastic allows you to wear the A-JAC much tighter than other carriers to avoid that dreaded bouncing up and down while running but without inhibiting your ability to breathe. Due to its construction, you’ll also find it holds weight much better than other elastic cummerbund.
